Refund policy

We will happily accept your return or exchange. Below are the conditions for each.

With the exception of antique or estate jewelry, Alara does not sell used jewelry.  And “used,” by our definition, means worn longer than for the purposes of checking a piece for fit and finish. 

Nope, you really don’t get to borrow jewelry from us.  Which is good to know, if you actually want to buy a piece of jewelry art, and you would prefer to know it didn’t spend all sorts of time being worn at charity fundraising balls or class reunions throughout the country...

Returns and exchanges result in a re-stocking fee withheld from your refund or applied against your exchange credit. That re-stocking fee is tied to our shipping costs.

  

"do not remove" tag

To quell "jewelry borrowing," all our artworks come with a “do not remove” tag.  This tag is conspicuously fastened to every artwork, and simply prevents the practical wear of a piece.  The removal of this tag disqualifies the piece for either return or exchange.

 

damage in transit 

If you receive a piece and it is in any way damaged in transit, you have 14 days to report that problem to us, so that we can provide you with a prepaid airbill to return it to us. You will not be charged for this shipping, should we determine your findings are correct.  The “do not remove” tag must be intact on the piece, and the item should be returned in the original inner packaging in which it arrived.

 

hey! this isn't what you said it was!

If you have reason to believe the artwork received is not the metal type and fineness we claimed, does not contain the type or quality of gem we claimed, or was otherwise misrepresented by our written word, you have 14 days to report that misrepresentation us, so that we can provide you with a prepaid airbill to return it to us. You will not be charged for this shipping, should we determine your findings are correct.  The “do not remove” tag must be intact on the piece, and the item should be returned in the original inner packaging in which it arrived.

 

I would like to exchange for something else at Alara

If you determine that you would like to return the piece, but there is no issue of damage upon arrival or misrepresentation, please contact us within 14 days of receipt (or within 14 days of the gift-giving date you specified at the time of purchase) for an RA# and a pre-addressed, prepaid airbill.  Your in-house Alara account will be credited for all pieces with intact “do not remove” tags and original inner packaging, minus the cost of the return shipping to us.  The pieces you select in exchange will be shipped without shipping charge.

Your credit with us never diminishes in any way over time.  

I would really like to return, but no exchange

We understand. We tried our best to provide you with the information you needed, and you tried your best to select the right artwork. It just didn't work out.

Please contact us within 14 days of receipt (or within 14 days of the gift-giving date you specified at the time of purchase) for an RA# and a pre-addressed, prepaid airbill.  Your original form of payment will be credited for all pieces with intact “do not remove” tags and original inner packaging, minus the cost of the shipping both ways.

 

exceptions

Discounted items, special order artworks, custom order artworks, altered/sized/engraved artworks, Gem-Water collection, Luxe Rox collection, Alora collection, and personal fragrances are final sale and completely disqualified from exchange or return. No returns/exchanges on international shipments.
