Mike Webb

Mike Webb, an in-house goldsmith for Alara, is the craftsman behind Mountain Heir Jewelry. The name Mountain Heir was inspired by the belief that, just like an heir to a throne, we are all heirs to nature itself. In the same way that an heir inherits a legacy, we, as humans, inherit the breathtaking wonders of nature, and have the responsibility to take care of it. The name is a reminder that we are part of something much larger, something rooted in the earth itself, and the creations, like the mountains, are meant to endure.

There's also a playful and poetic element to the name. Mountain Heir evokes the imagery of fresh mountain air: fresh, rejuvenating, and pure. This subtle connection to the feeling of breathing in the invigorating, unspoiled air of the mountains reflects the purity and elegance that the jewelry pieces aspire to embody. Just as crisp air refreshes the body and soul, the jewelry from Mountain Heir is intended to offer a sense of connection and beauty, drawn from nature's raw, untouched elements.

In essence, Mountain Heir is a celebration of our connection to nature, the legacy it offers us, and the way it shapes the artistry and values embedded in each piece of jewelry.

Mike had the great fortune of growing up in a military family that always embraced the natural beauty that each duty station had to offer. Pennsylvania, Georgia, Washington, Hawai'i, Colorado, and Montana have each had a hand in shaping Mikes passion for nature, and where he draws inspiration from. During his free time, you can usually find him rockhounding in the mountains, or tracking storms passing through!
