123 Years. One Day. Here's the Story.
A Boston fine jewelry distributor, in business since 1902, is retiring, and closing its doors. Four people were tasked with liquidating $30 million in inventory. One of them is Dennis: a longtime sales professional for the company, and a longtime friend of Babs'.
He didn't have to bring this collection to Bozeman. Bigger markets would've been easier. He chose Alara because he knew we'd put these pieces in front of people who'd actually appreciate them, and treat every person who walked through the door like a person, not a transaction.
We're talking about the pieces that never go out of style: diamond tennis bracelets with serious weight, eternity bands in yellow, white, and rose gold, inside-out diamond hoops, colored stone pendants that make a statement. The staples of a fine jewelry wardrobe: the pieces people actually wear, every day, for years.
We've spent 22 years saying no to mass-produced jewelry. We still will. But a beautifully made piece, at half price, brought here by a handshake between friends, is a different conversation; we're glad to be part of it.

This is in-store only. No online preview, no online purchase. Come in, try things on, see 123 years of classic American fine jewelry in one room at half price. Our team will be on hand to answer questions, pull pieces for you, and make sure you're buying well, not just buying fast.
Before You Buy: The Honest Fine Print
All items are final sale, as-is; that's the nature of a true liquidation, and it's reflected in the pricing.
"As-is" doesn't mean "figure it out yourself." If a bracelet needs shortening or a ring needs sizing, ask us before you buy; we'll give you a real picture of cost and turnaround. Alterations are billed separately, and because we're protecting our in-house atelier's schedule for existing repairs and custom already in our service queue, sale-item repairs/alterations will ship fully insured to a trusted outside partner. Of course, you may also have items altered at another jeweler you trust.

Do I need to RSVP for the public sale on July 29?
No. Just walk in. RSVP is only required for VIP Night access (via the newsletter signup above).
Is parking available?
The Bridger Park Garage offers 2 hours of free parking and is less than 2 blocks from Alara.
Can I reserve a piece in advance?
No, since this sale is so limited in time, it will be conducted on a first-come-first-served basis.
What if I can't make it to VIP Night or the 29th?
You could certainly call us during the event, and if we're able to answer specific questions on specific types of pieces, we will do our best to assist you. That said, once 6pm on July 29th rolls around, all the pieces will be getting packed up and moved out.
Can I bring a friend to VIP Night?
Sure! Each VIP may bring up to two friends to the VIP Night. That said, they cannot receive the extra 5% off unless they sign up as a VIP themselves before they purchase.
Will there be appraisals or GIA documentation available on pieces?
We literally do not know the exact inventory that will be coming our way. If there is a piece accompanied by a GIA Grading Report, it will most certainly become yours upon purchase of the corresponding item.
