Carved Chalcedony, Abalone & Diamond Pendant - "Luminescent Scarab Beetle"

Scarab beetles are celebrated for their shifting, radiant coloration, created by microscopic surface structures that bend and scatter light. This piece from Maura Green’s Luminescent Collection is hand-carved by master Balinese artisans from soft, milky chalcedony with a translucent glow. The gem is paired with a finely carved layer of abalone shell, where natural nacre reveals layered, iridescent depth and movement. Together, these materials create a soft inner illumination, giving the scarab the appearance of light coming from within.

Each carved element is then set into a yellow gold frame accented with diamonds and finished in the United States, where the piece is refined and brought fully to life. It is completed with a pearl enhancer bail, allowing it to be worn on a chain or beaded necklace.

Wear this scarab on its own or layer it with other Maura Green talismans to build a collected story. Please note, each pendant is hand-carved from natural materials, so no two are ever exactly the same.
