At Alara, we are serious about the quality of your piercing service--and that includes the system we use to pierce. The line of piercing studs we carry are 100% germ-free, thanks to the sealed, individual cartridges that encapsulate them. The cartridges are loaded into the special device that our piercers use to actually pierce you.
As far as health goes, we have chosen the metals that are least likely to cause sensitivity issues: 14K yellow gold and titanium. We also have a small selection of 14K white gold earrings, which technically contain a tiny amount of nickel (the leading cause of metal sensitivities), but that amount is so small that the alloy mixture still passes the stringent EU Nickel Release Directive No. 1907/2006.
All earrings come with Safety Back™ nuts which completely cover the pointed posts, thereby preventing poking the wearer behind the ear.
